Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming action thriller King has emerged as the costliest film of his career. The budget of the Siddharth Anand directorial has reportedly touched Rs 450 crore, excluding Shah Rukh Khan’s remuneration and the print and publicity costs. The film has comfortably crossed the budgets of Jawan and Pathaan, making it the most expensive film in the Superstar’s career. The budget has gone up because of the film’s extensive production. King has been shot for over 150 days across multiple international locations. The action episodes are designed by leading international stunt teams, while the visual effects are handled by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. The makers are spending heavily to mount the film on a global scale.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King features Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Rani Mukerji and Arshad Warsi in key roles. The film is scheduled for a Christmas 2026 release and is one of the biggest Hindi films currently under production.
Siddharth Anand is currently focused on completing the final schedule and post-production work. Shah Rukh Khan, who has taken a long gap after Dunki, is expected to return to the big screen with King.
