Abhishek Nama is gearing up to deliver a visual wonder with Nagabandham – The Secret Treasure, set for a grand worldwide release on July 3. Taking the helm as director, he crafted an epic fantasy adventure designed to give families a spectacular theatrical experience. Bankrolled by Kishore Annapureddy and Nishita Nagireddy, the film stars Virat Karrna alongside an ensemble cast like Nabha Natesh, Iswarya Menon, Jagapathi Babu, and Mahesh Manjrekar.
Transitioning from a background in fine arts and film distribution, Abhishek Nama directed this project to ensure his creative vision remained intact. The story is a fictional treasure hunt inspired by the mysteries of ancient temple vaults. To avoid the burden of star expectations and keep the story as the true hero, he deliberately chose a newcomer for the lead role, allowing the narrative to drive the cinematic experience.
Bringing this mythology-infused commercial film to life was no small feat. With real temple locations largely inaccessible, the crew built eight monumental sets. A significant chunk of the budget went straight into production, art, and visual effects. The actors gave it their all, with Garuda Ram enduring hours of heavy makeup daily and Virat Karrna executing intense action sequences in the extreme cold conditions without a body double.
The phenomenal response to the promotional content has translated into a global release across 2500 screens. Abhishek Nama credits the producers for fully trusting his vision and supporting the team for a huge 107-day shooting schedule with Rs.110 crore budget. Mentioning that the catchy music by Junaid and Abhi elevated the movie scale, the director is extremely satisfied with the final cut and confident it will resonate with audiences.
