Mumbai: Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan has responded to the viral video that sparked debate over traffic disruption during a recent protest in Mumbai. Speaking on the issue, he said he would not call the incident wrong, as the women-led ‘Jan Aakrosh Morcha’ was organised after the Bill was passed, with thousands of women participating.
Mahajan explained that large protest marches moving through city roads are likely to cause traffic blocks and temporary inconvenience. In this case, the rally was heading towards Worli, and road congestion was expected due to the scale of participation.
At the same time, the minister said there is a proper way to express anger and added that the language used in the viral video was inappropriate. He also stated that authorities had informed commuters the road would be cleared within 10 minutes and assured that better care would be taken in the future.
The viral clip has triggered conversations online about public protests, traffic management, and the balance between democratic expression and civic convenience.
