A new Telugu film titled VETA has officially been launched with a grand pooja ceremony, marking the third production from SRD Studios and ETV WIN Originals. Directed by debutant Ashok Kotipalli, the film stars Sandeep Saroj and Satwika Jampa in the lead roles and promises to bring a raw, rustic story set in the heartlands of Godavari to the big screen.
Along with the launch, the makers unveiled the film’s title and a glimpse into its world, hinting at an emotional narrative that blends love, pain and intense drama against a village backdrop. The team describes VETA as a commercial entertainer rooted in rural culture, while retaining the authenticity and emotions of village life.
The launch ceremony witnessed the presence of several well-known personalities from the Telugu film industry. Konidela Nagendra Babu attended as the chief guest and formally handed over the script to the team. Veteran filmmaker K.S. Ravi Kumar gave the ceremonial clap, while Sai Rajesh, SKN, VN Aditya and producer Phani Adapaka switched on the camera. Directors Meher Ramesh and Yadhu Vamsee, along with music director Anudeep Dev, were also present to extend their wishes to the team.
Speaking at the event, K.S. Ravi Kumar shared that Ashok Kotipalli had narrated the story to him over WhatsApp a few weeks ago. He said the narration impressed him with its emotional depth and the way the characters were presented. Ravi Kumar added that he immediately agreed to be part of the film and even his wife was impressed after watching a portion of the narration. While maintaining suspense about his role, he described it as a unique character and said audiences would enjoy watching it. He also joked that the film would improve his Telugu because he has plenty of dialogues.
Creative Producer Tanmai N from ETV WIN said VETA continues the platform’s vision of backing fresh stories and talented filmmakers. He noted that this marks another collaboration with Sandeep Saroj following Committee Kurrollu and expressed confidence that the film’s genre and storytelling would connect strongly with Telugu audiences.
Producer Phani Adapaka described VETA as a commercial film with strong village emotions rather than just another rural drama. He said Ashok Kotipalli’s writing immediately impressed the team and convinced them to produce the film. He also revealed that Sandeep Saroj will be seen in a completely different avatar, featuring intense action sequences and a more commercial image. Phani thanked Niharika Konidela for her continued encouragement following Committee Kurrollu and also expressed gratitude to Nagendra Babu for supporting and guiding him throughout his filmmaking journey.
Sandeep Saroj thanked everyone who attended the ceremony and said he was delighted to continue his association with ETV WIN and SRD Studios. Speaking about the title, he clarified that VETA was not selected because of any previous association with another project. Instead, he said it perfectly suits the story, and audiences will understand its true meaning as more updates are revealed.
Satwika Jampa described the film as a special milestone in her career and said she feels fortunate to work with such an experienced team. She expressed confidence that the project would become a memorable addition to her journey.
Making his directorial debut, Ashok Kotipalli thanked the producers, cast and guests for believing in him. He expressed special gratitude to K.S. Ravi Kumar for accepting the story immediately and thanked SRD Studios and ETV WIN for giving him the opportunity to direct his first feature film. He assured that more exciting updates about VETA will be unveiled soon.
