One of Telugu television’s most celebrated mystery franchises is making a comeback with a brand-new chapter. Telugu ZEE5 Original Veerabhadruni Rahasyam – From the World of Marmadesam is set to premiere on June 26, 2026, bringing back the suspense, folklore, and supernatural intrigue that made the original Marmadesam a cult favorite among audiences.
Set in the enigmatic village of Veerabhadrapuram, the series explores a community where faith and fear are deeply intertwined. For generations, villagers have believed that Veerabhadra Swamy, a powerful deity, delivers justice to wrongdoers. Every time the temple bell rings, a body is found near the temple, and the deaths are accepted as divine punishment. The village continues to follow age-old traditions and rituals, including the unsettling practice of disposing of bodies on the feared Gaddhala Gutta.
The story takes a dramatic turn with the arrival of Vennela, played by Annie, a fearless young woman from the city who refuses to accept superstition as the answer to every tragedy. When a young villager is murdered and the incident is once again attributed to divine intervention, Vennela begins investigating the truth behind the mysterious deaths.
As her search intensifies, long-buried secrets start to emerge. The investigation uncovers a web of crime, manipulation, and exploitation hidden behind the veil of devotion. Through parallel narratives stretching back to the 1970s, the series gradually reveals how myths were shaped by power, greed, and fear, creating a legacy that continues to influence the village even today.
Directed by Bheemagani Sri Vardhan Reddy, the series features Annie as Vennela, Raghu Kunche as Yoganandam, Raghu as Karthikeya, SI Ravi as Abhinav, Kamal Thumu as Dr. Nanda, Sireesha as Simhavalli, Anuradha as Nanchari, Balachandra as Gurunadhan, Kalki as Brahmam, and Harvin Reddy as Young Karthikeya. The technical team includes cinematographer Subhash, music director Sudha Srinivas, editor Ragam Satya Nitish, screenplay writer Rudarraju Chanakya Varma, and dialogue writer Anjan Megoti.
Designed as a long-format mystery drama, Veerabhadruni Rahasyam spans 60 episodes, with the story gradually unfolding through twists, revelations, and hidden connections. The series will launch with two episodes on June 26, followed by weekly episode releases, allowing viewers to experience the mystery step by step.
