Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s much-awaited film Irumudi is set to hit the screens on the 21st of this month, with expectations soaring following its promotional material and aggressive campaign. The team recently held the film’s pre-release event in a grand manner.
Director Shiva Nirvana revealed that his approach to Irumudi was different from what audiences might initially expect. He said the story originated from the relationship between a middle-class father and his daughter, with the Ayyappa backdrop being incorporated later to complement the emotional journey.
The director also promised that the film gradually transforms into an intense thriller. “Please don’t think this is a light-hearted movie. It is very intense. The final 40 minutes will completely immerse you in a human drama. I would call it one of the most intense and serious family dramas in Telugu cinema. I thought I would perhaps make a mass entertainer with Ravi Teja, but I am extremely proud of the way I have presented him. Mallepoola Pallaki comes at the right moment with the right energy, and audiences will see around 100 swamis performing in the sequence.”
Ravi Teja is equally confident that Irumudi will deliver an emotional and memorable theatrical experience. “I’ve watched the movie without BGM, and I’m sure, Irumudi is going to be a blockbuster for sure. I’m very certain that this movie will offer an emotional ride.”
The actor praised the technicians, director Shiva Nirvana and his co-stars, while revealing that the film will present him in a different dimension. The Mass Maharaja further revealed that Irumudi is not simply the story of one father, but revolves around two fathers. “This is not simply the story of one father. It is the story of two fathers. Mark my words, Nakshatra is going to become a big heroine in the future. She has a very bright future ahead. The scenes between us are going to be hard-hitting,” he said.
Ravi Teja was also all praise for Priya Bhavani Shankar, who plays the female lead. “Priya Bhavani Shankar looks like the perfect fit for Kaveri. She has performed extremely well. She is superb in two particular scenes,” he said.
The actor also expressed his happiness about collaborating with Mythri Movie Makers for the third time and stated that he would love to work with the production house again.
