Ranveer Singh has started shooting for his next film Pralay in Mumbai. The post-apocalyptic action thriller has gone on floors today, marking Ranveer’s first major project after the Dhurandhar franchise. The film is directed by Jai Mehta and Kalyani Priyadarshan has joined the cast. Pralay is set in a post-apocalyptic world and revolves around a survival story. The film is said to present a dystopian version of Mumbai after a catastrophic event. The makers have planned the film on a large scale, with action, survival elements and VFX playing an important role.
Jai Mehta is making his theatrical directorial debut with the film. He is the son of filmmaker Hansal Mehta and earlier worked with his father on Lootere. Hansal Mehta is also backing the project along with Ranveer Singh and other producers. Kalyani Priyadarshan is another important addition to the film. The actress, who has worked across Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu cinema, is making her Hindi film debut with Pralay. She recently gained attention with Lokah Chapter One: Chandra and will be seen alongside Ranveer in this survival thriller. Pralay is produced by Ranveer Singh’s Maa Kasam Films, along with Ananya Birla’s Birla Studios and True Story Films.
