One of the most celebrated classics in Telugu cinema, Okkadu, is all set to make a grand return to theatres on June 26 in stunning 4K quality. Starring Superstar Mahesh Babu and directed by Gunasekhar, the film originally released in 2003 and emerged as a massive blockbuster, leaving a lasting impact on audiences and the Telugu film industry.
Produced by M.S. Raju under the Sumanth Art Productions banner, Okkadu is widely regarded as a milestone in Mahesh Babu’s career. The film not only delivered record-breaking success at the box office but also became a cultural phenomenon, with its iconic Kurnool Kondareddy Buruju backdrop remaining etched in the memories of movie lovers.
The film featured Bhumika Chawla as the female lead, while Prakash Raj delivered a memorable performance as the antagonist. The supporting cast included Mukesh Rishi, Telangana Shakuntala, Ajay, Geetha, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Rajan P. Dev and Achyuth, all of whom contributed to the film’s enduring appeal.

Speaking about the re-release, director Gunasekhar expressed his excitement and said that Okkadu continues to enjoy immense popularity even after more than two decades. He noted that although the film has been re-released several times in the past, watching it in 4K on the big screen will be a special experience.
